Select multiple photos on WhatsApp iOS
If you’re using an iPhone, there are two straightforward ways to pick multiple photos quickly.
Long press and drag
Open chat, tap +: Go to the chat where you want to send photos. Tap the plus (+) icon at the bottom left—this brings up options like Photo & Video Library, Camera, and more. Long press first photo: Choose Photo & Video Library. Find the first photo you want to send, press and hold it for 1 second. A small checkmark will appear, and the photo will highlight. Drag to select more: Keep holding your finger and drag across other photos. Each one you pass over gets a checkmark—you can move vertically or horizontally to cover rows. When done, tap Send.
Use select all option
Open gallery from chat: Tap +, then Photo & Video Library. Tap select all: Look at the top right of your gallery—there’s a “Select All” button. Tap it to pick every photo in the current folder. Deselect unwanted ones: If you don’t want all photos, tap the checkmarks on the ones you want to remove. Then tap Send.
Select multiple photos on WhatsApp Android
Android users have their own set of easy methods for multi-photo selection.
Long press and tap others
Open chat, tap +: Go to your chat, tap the plus (+) icon at the bottom right. Select “Photos” from the menu. Long press first photo: Hold the first photo you want—you’ll see a checkmark and a toolbar at the top. Tap other photos: Now tap any other photos to add them. You can also use the “Select all” button if you need all photos in the folder. Hit Send when ready.
Use multi-select icon
Open gallery from chat: Tap +, then Photos. Tap multi-select icon: Look for the multi-select icon (usually three dots or a grid with checkmarks) at the top of your gallery. Tap it. Select and send: Tap multiple photos or drag to select a range. When you’re done, tap Send to share them.
Select multiple photos via WhatsApp Web
If you’re working on your computer and want to send photos without grabbing your phone, using WhatsApp Web (https://www.ws-whatsappsweb.com/) is a great option. Here are two ways to select multiple photos there.
Ctrl/Cmd click for individual photos
Open chat, click +: Go to your desired chat in WhatsApp Web. Click the plus (+) icon at the bottom of the chat window. Hold Ctrl/Cmd, click: When your file explorer opens, navigate to your photos. Hold Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac) and click each photo you want. Send photos: Click “Open” (or Send) to add them to the chat. You can add captions before hitting Send.
Shift key for range selection
Open chat, click +: Same as before—click + and select Photos & Videos. Hold Shift, click range: Find the first photo in your range, click it. Then hold Shift and click the last photo—all photos in between get selected. Edit and send: You can edit photos (crop, filter) before sending. Hit Send when you’re happy.
WhatsApp Web Common Questions
Can I select multiple photos on WhatsApp Web and edit them before sending?
Yes, you can! When you select multiple photos via WhatsApp Web, you have the option to edit each one before sending. Let me walk you through it: after selecting photos (using Ctrl/Cmd click or Shift range), a preview window pops up. At the top, you’ll see an edit icon (pencil). Click it to open tools for the first photo—crop, add filters, draw, or write text. Finish editing, then click the right arrow to move to the next photo and repeat. This saves time because you don’t need to switch to another photo editor. I use this all the time for vacation photos—adjusting brightness or adding quick captions directly in WhatsApp Web. The tools are basic but useful: brightness, contrast, saturation, and cropping are all there. If you mess up, undo or reset the photo. Once edits are done, send the photos—easy!
Is there a limit to the number of photos I can select at once on WhatsApp Web?
Yes, WhatsApp allows up to 100 photos at once (mobile or Web). I tested this once—tried 120 photos, but only 100 were selected. This limit keeps the app from crashing due to large files. If you need more than 100, split into batches of
Can I schedule multiple photos to send later via WhatsApp Web?
Unfortunately, WhatsApp Web doesn’t have a built-in scheduling feature. But there are workarounds! One way is to save your selected photos as a draft: select them, then close the chat window—they stay in the draft. Set a reminder on your computer to send them later. I do this for birthday wishes: prepare photos the night before, set a reminder for 8 AM, then send them when the reminder pops up. Another option is third-party tools, but be careful—they might violate WhatsApp’s terms or compromise privacy. The draft method is safe and easy. Just don’t log out of WhatsApp Web or close the tab—your draft will disappear if you do.
If you try any of these methods, let me know how it goes—I’m always curious to hear your experiences!
